Arijit Raychowdhury was appointed Steve W. Chaddick School Chair of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Tech on December 1, 2021. Previously, he held the Motorola Solutions Foundation Professorship and joined the ECE faculty as an associate professor in January 2013. Raychowdhury was awarded the Semiconductor Junior Professorship from 2015 to 2019 and currently oversees a school that is consistently ranked among the nation’s leading programs in graduate and undergraduate education. The School of ECE is one of the largest producers of electrical and computer engineers in the United States, with over 2,500 graduate and undergraduate students and around 100 faculty members. He is the director of the Center for Co-Design of Cognitive Systems (CoCoSys) and has held research positions at Intel Corporation and Texas Instruments. Raychowdhury received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University in 2007. His research interests include low power digital mixed-signal circuit design, specialized accelerators, power converters, and signal-processors. He has made significant contributions to the semiconductor industry including designing the world’s first adaptive echo-cancellation network for integrated DSLs and foundational technologies in memory and logic design. Raychowdhury has published over 250 articles in refereed journals and conferences and holds more than 27 U.S. and international patents. He currently serves as a Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society and is active in various technical program committees for key circuits design conferences.
