Biography

Aristides Cruz, Jr. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Brown University. He is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of orthopaedic conditions affecting children and adolescents. His areas of interest include traumatic injuries and fracture care, as well as sports-related conditions among pediatric and adolescent patients. Dr. Cruz obtained his undergraduate degree in 2002 from Tufts University and earned his medical degree in 2006 from the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. He completed his orthopedic residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital/Yale University in New Haven, CT. During his residency, he served as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in the United States Air Force and was awarded multiple honors, including the Air Force Commendation Medal. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 2014, Dr. Cruz further advanced his training by completing a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2016, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management, participating in the Physician Executive MBA program.
