I currently work as a Research Fellow in the School of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow. My research focuses on collaborative projects related to health and lifestyle behaviors, particularly in relation to physical activity and sedentary behavior among children and adults with intellectual disabilities. I graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BA (Hons) in Sport and Physical Activity in 2012, followed by a PhD at the University of Glasgow (2012-2015). My dissertation investigated the measurement of physical activity and sedentary behavior in children with intellectual disabilities, specifically examining the validity of accelerometers. I hold an MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology from Staffordshire University (2017). Prior to my current role, I worked as a Research Assistant and then a Research Associate in projects focusing on parental perceptions of physical activity and the evaluation of a trial aimed at improving outcomes in osteoarthritis care. My research interests encompass physical activity, sedentary behavior, and health inequalities, especially for those with intellectual disabilities.
