Armond R. Towns is an associate professor in Communication Media Studies at Carleton University, holding a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Communication. Dr. Towns is also a co-founder and inaugural editor of the journal 'Communication Race' under the National Communication Association in the U.S. Before joining Carleton, he taught at the University of Denver and the University of Richmond, where his contributions included co-authoring a proposal for the establishment of the Africana Studies Program, which was approved in 2020.
