Biography

Arnaldo Soldani’s fields of expertise are mainly in the History of Italian Literary Language Forms and Poetry, with a particular focus on metrics, syntax, lexicon, and forms of argumentation in narration verse, as well as the subject's voice in lyric poetry. He further researches prosodic scanning criteria in Italian verse through digital filing of metric phenomena via the AMI - Archivio Metrico Italiano. His studies have centered on Dante, the Petrarchan tradition of the XIVth century, Sannazaro, and Petrarchism of the XVth and XVIth centuries, as well as the chivalric poems of Ariosto and Tasso, Renaissance didactic poems, and the poetic language of the XIXth and XXth centuries, including figures such as Pascoli and Montale. He is also a Co-Editor of the journal “Stilistica e metrica italiana.”
