Dr. Arnaud Augert

Biography

Arnaud Augert is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine. He is a trained molecular cellular biologist whose PhD research focused on the study of cellular senescence, a process connected to various age-related conditions, including cancer. His postdoctoral research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center involved investigating small cell lung cancer (SCLC), a formidable neuroendocrine tumor, leading to significant findings regarding the transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms that drive SCLC initiation and progression. Augert's work has provided insights into potential therapeutic strategies for this cancer type, including the identification of tumor suppressive networks within the MYC network. He has published in prominent scientific journals such as Cancer Cell, Cancer Discovery, and EMBO Journal. Committed to mentorship, Augert has supervised numerous students and lab professionals, guiding them through their academic journeys.
