Arsenio Avila is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. His research interests include diagnostic interventional radiofrequency treatment for spinal pain syndromes involving the thoracic spine, sacroiliac joint complex pain disorders, and intracranial hypotension. He has actively contributed to conducting workshops on these subjects at local, provincial, national, and international levels. Dr. Avila is an integral part of the Canadian Interventional Pain Medicine's annual workshops program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and has played a significant role in its initiation. He serves as a reviewer for the spine section of the Journal of Pain Medicine, which is the official journal of the American Board and the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the Australian Asian Society of Pain Medicine. He is currently a proud member of the standard practice and evidence committee of the International Society of Interventional Pain Medicine (ISIS), a scientifically recognized society in academic pain medicine.
