Biography

Arthur DeGaetano received his interdisciplinary Ph.D. focusing on Climatology and Horticulture from Rutgers University in 1989. He began his academic career as an assistant professor in the Department of Meteorology at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 2001. He joined Cornell University in the same year as a research climatologist at the federally-supported Northeast Regional Climate Center (NRCC), which is located at Cornell's main campus. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and serves as the director of the NRCC. His mission at the NRCC is to enhance the use and dissemination of climate information across a wide variety of sectors in the Northeast. DeGaetano also serves as an editor for the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology.
