Biography

Arthur Dogariu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University. His research primarily focuses on advanced optical diagnostics in gases and plasmas, with applications in hypersonics and combustion. He is also involved in remote detection and optical sensing technologies, as well as nonlinear ultrafast optical phenomena. With an extensive educational background, Dr. Dogariu obtained his Ph.D. from the Center Research Education Optics Lasers (CREOL) at the University of Central Florida in 1997. Prior to that, he earned a Physics Engineer Diploma from the University of Bucharest, Romania in 1991. He has received several accolades throughout his career, including being named a Fellow of the Optical Society of America in 2020 and an Honorary Member of the Academy of Romanian Scientists in 2018. In addition, he has been recognized for his contributions with awards such as the Intellectual Property Accelerator Fund Award from Princeton University in 2014, the NEC Research Impact Award in 2001, and the Presidential National Order Merit awarded by Bucharest, Romania in 2000.
