Biography

Art Pallone works to bring science closer to students, the public, and researchers with limited resources. Pallone has taught for more than 15 years at public and private universities, beginning his career as a Davies Fellow at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. During this time, Pallone worked at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory to understand the performance of body armor. He developed methods to improve the signal-to-noise ratio in ion beam analysis and utilized multi-modal multi-spectral imaging and image analysis in creative ways to build optical instruments for students. His passion for science is equaled by his passion for teaching, providing classroom experiential-learning opportunities. He regularly mentors students and enjoys conducting public outreach events. His research has been published with student coauthors in the area of Physics Education.
