Biography

Canadian pianist and Steinway Artist Arthur Rowe is a critically acclaimed recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician. He has received high praise for his performances, including a solo recital in New York that was described as having "immediate positive impression." Rowe’s reputation as a chamber musician began while he was a student at Western University, where he was invited to tour Canada with esteemed Professor Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi. After completing his graduate studies at Indiana University, he has performed extensively across the United States and Canada, and has participated as a guest artist in numerous summer festivals including Blossom and Interlochen. Rowe has recorded for various labels and his performances have been broadcast on CBC Radio and NPR. As an Artistic Director of the Victoria Summer Music Festival, he has played a key role in presenting world-renowned artists and exceptional young talent to audiences. Rowe has held previous academic positions at the University of Iowa and the University of Western Ontario, and has significantly contributed to making the University of Victoria's School of Music a prestigious All-Steinway School. His recent performances include collaborations with the Toronto Symphony's Concertmaster and engagements at prominent music festivals.
