Artur Mayerhofer has been a Professor of Molecular Anatomy at the Biomedical Center of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) since 2000. Prior to this role, he served as a Professor of Molecular Anatomy at the Technical University of Munich from 1996 to 2000. His academic journey includes being a Heisenberg Fellow at the Oregon Health & Science University in the United States from 1993 to 1996, and a Research Associate at Schering AG in Berlin in 1992. He completed his Habilitation in Anatomy at the University of Ulm in 1992, following a postdoctoral research position in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Ulm and the Department of Physiology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His research primarily focuses on the functional regulation of testicular peritubular cells and ovarian granulosa cells, as well as their roles in reproductive health and infertility. He collaborates with various groups within the Biomedical Center, the Gene Center, as well as national and international partners, employing a variety of cellular and molecular techniques in his investigations.
