Biography

Artur M. Schweidtmann's research focuses on computer algorithms in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and process systems engineering (PSE) with applications in chemical engineering. He develops algorithms and applies them to domains such as robotic chemistry, process optimization, surrogate modeling, and molecular property prediction. As an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology, he heads the Process Intelligence Research team. He is also involved in the establishment of the TU Delft AI Initiative along with Qian Tao, director of the Chemical Engineering & Medical Imaging AI Lab. Artur received his Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from RWTH University in 2017 and completed his Ph.D. in Process Systems Engineering at RWTH in 2021. He has also spent time as a visiting student at Carnegie Mellon University and performed his Master's thesis at the University of Cambridge.
