Dr. Arturo Susarrey Arce

Biography

Arturo Susarrey Arce is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mesoscale Chemical Systems at the University of Twente. He completed his Ph.D. at the same university, focusing on the development of structured materials for applications in energy, chemistry, and material sciences. His academic journey includes working as a research assistant at the University of Liverpool, where he engaged in antimicrobial surfaces and surface science research, followed by a position at Chalmers University of Technology in nanofabrication. His current research interests encompass energy-related topics, including solar electricity chemical conversion, and he actively explores catalytic reactions using microreactor systems. Additionally, he investigates the synthesis of metal and metal oxide materials for thermal catalysis and photocatalysis, as well as the fabrication of water-oil repellent surfaces and plasmonic nanostructures for sensing applications. His work also addresses the health implications of structured materials and microfluidic systems.
