Biography

Aruna Srivastava is an Associate Professor Emerita at the University of Calgary, where her work primarily focuses on anti-racism as an Educational Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) consultant. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Waterloo in 1982, followed by a Master's degree in the same field from the same institution in 1984. In 1988, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy at McMaster University. Over the course of her career, she has dedicated herself to addressing issues of diversity and inclusion within educational frameworks, advocating for anti-racism in various contexts. Srivastava's efforts have contributed to a deeper understanding of how to create inclusive environments in academic institutions. Having retired in October 2024, she continues to influence the academic community through her consultancy work.
