Arzu Güneysu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing Science at Umeå University. Her research focuses on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and healthcare education, particularly in the design and implementation of adaptive technology-enhanced therapies and inclusive educational practices. Güneysu has a Ph.D. in Robotics from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where she worked on the project "Designing Gamified Activities for Haptic-Enabled Tangible Robots for Therapy Assistance." Her interests include co-design, gamification, and developing therapeutic technologies for children with neurodevelopmental difficulties. Previously, she served as a lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and was a postdoctoral fellow at KTH, working on gamified interventions for children with various disabilities. Güneysu believes that intelligent technologies can provide effective interventions that are inclusive and engaging for neurodivergent children, emphasizing the importance of involving children in the design process of technology-mediated activities. Her future research aims to explore co-designing and developing gamified technology-enhanced interventions that promote play and learning among neurodivergent and neurotypical groups.
