Biography

Åsa Wettergren is a Professor at the University of Gothenburg in the Department of Sociology and Work Science, where she has been employed since January 2010. She completed her PhD at Karlstad University in Sweden in 2005, and from 2005 to 2009, she worked as a research fellow. Wettergren's research interests focus on the sociology of emotions, particularly the roles of emotions within bureaucratic organizations, social movements, politics, and migration. She has published several articles and books, including co-editing 'Emotionalizing Organizations: Organizing Emotions' (Palgrave, 2010) and 'Emotions Sociology' (Gleerups, 2013). In addition, she has edited the journal 'Emotions & Society,' launched by Bristol University Press in 2019. Wettergren has actively contributed as a founder and coordinator of the European Sociological Association’s Research Network in Sociology of Emotions and has organized the Emotion Sociological Seminar at the University of Gothenburg. She frequently engages in discussions at seminars and conferences about trust and emotions in organizations and workplaces, showcasing her expertise and involvement in her field.
