Biography

Asaf Cidon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science at Columbia University, where he is also a member of the Data Science Institute. His research interests are broadly focused on software systems security, involving critical work in distributed storage systems. Prior to his academic career, Cidon served as Senior Vice President of Email Protection at Barracuda Networks, leading a $200M email security archiving business and overseeing a team of engineers and product managers. Cidon is actively involved in teaching and mentoring PhD students, guiding research projects that contribute to advancements in email security and software systems.
