Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Asal Bidarmaghz. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Asal Bidarmaghz is a Senior Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW Sydney. Asal's expertise includes Energy Geotechnics, Underground Climate Change, design optimisation of energy geostructures, and the hydro-thermo-mechanical characteristics of urban subsurface structures. His research focuses on large-scale simulations of urban underground heat islands and their consequent geotechnical and environmental impacts, with a specific emphasis on the sustainable and resilient utilisation of underground structures and geo-energy resources. He has developed new urban-scale methods for predicting ground temperature and groundwater distributions at high resolutions in the presence of underground heat sources and sinks. Asal leads UNSW's Energy Geotechnics research group, comprising of PhD and MSc students, conducting experimental and numerical studies related to energy geotechnics and underground climate change.
