Professor Ashby Kent Fox joined the Legal Research & Writing Faculty at the University of Wisconsin Law School. She has over fourteen years of experience as an equity partner in the Commercial Litigation section at Burr & Forman LLP, where she has worked on a wide variety of business disputes, including cases involving misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of contract. In her role at the firm, Fox held managerial positions and was a founder and leader of the firm's Women Business Initiative, aimed at empowering women in the Atlanta business community. She also founded the firm’s Health Law Partnership (HeLP) pro bono initiative in 2008, which assists caregivers in obtaining legal guardianships for ill or disabled minors and incapacitated adults. Fox has co-authored the annual Eleventh Circuit survey article published in the Mercer Law Review, covering notable developments in civil procedure and trial practice. Prior to joining UW Law, she taught Pretrial Litigation at Emory University School of Law and contributed to the Kessler-Eidson Program Trial Techniques. Fox earned her J.D. with honors from Emory University School of Law in 2003 and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University in 2000, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She is admitted to practice in Georgia and Wisconsin and serves as a faculty advisor for the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society.
