Biography

Asheesh Goel is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School and a partner in the Government & Internal Investigations Group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago. He specializes in securities enforcement matters, internal investigations, and government investigations and enforcement actions. Throughout his career, Asheesh has developed extensive experience advising clients on the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the U.K. Bribery Act, and other related anti-corruption laws, as well as financial statement disclosure issues and insider trading. Prior to joining Kirkland, he served as co-chair of Ropes & Gray's global anti-corruption practice and was the managing partner of their Chicago office. Asheesh also held the position of branch chief at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement, where he led several high-profile investigations and litigation efforts related to financial statement disclosure fraud and violations of securities laws. During his tenure at the SEC, he received Special Act Awards for his exemplary work on significant investigations and litigations.
