Biography

Ashish Arora is a distinguished academician and researcher specializing in the economics of technology and technical change. He holds the position of Rex Adams Distinguished Professor of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. His research focuses on the dynamics of technology-intensive industries including software, biotechnology, and chemicals, encompassing the economics of information security and the role of patents in fostering technological advancements and investment within startups. He has authored numerous influential publications that examine the intersection of patenting, corporate strategy, and economic growth, contributing significantly to the understanding of innovation in emerging economies. Throughout his career, Arora has been involved in teaching a variety of courses related to economics, security risk management, entrepreneurial strategy, and innovation-based ventures.
