Ashleigh Hutchinson is an applied mathematician with a strong research focus on fluid mechanics problems rooted in industry. She works with low-Reynolds number flows and non-Newtonian fluids, adopting a multidisciplinary approach to solve complex problems through the synergy of theoretical models, laboratory experiments, and numerical simulations. Her research interests include utilizing mathematical modeling to address challenges in various industries such as finance, sugar, fishing, mining, and energy conservation. Hutchinson obtained her PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 2016 and has been employed as a lecturer for several years. Before taking on her lectureship at the University of Manchester, she was a Newton International Fellow based at the University of Cambridge.
Includes MSc in Advanced Electrical Power Systems and MSc in Communications and Signal Processing.
