Biography

Ashley Schnakenberg Martin is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine and a Research Psychologist at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS). She directs the Early Psychosis Intervention Coordination (EPIC) Program at VACHS. Dr. Martin has an extensive background in Metacognitive Reflection Insight Therapy (MERIT) and focuses on treating veterans with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring substance use disorders. To explore this complex relationship, she employs a multimodal approach that includes psychophysiology, such as simultaneous magnetoencephalography and electroencephalography, as well as assessments of metacognition, neurocognition, and pharmacological intervention studies.
