Biography

Ashley Simpson is currently the Co-Head of the Institute of Language Education at the University of Edinburgh. She specializes in intercultural education, intercultural communication, and critical approaches to democracy and human rights education. With extensive experience working at higher education institutions in China, Finland, and Russia, her research focuses on the critical studies of education. Simpson has co-authored the book 'Interculturality in Political Education' and co-edited volumes such as 'Meaning and Criticality in Education Research: Reflecting Critical Pedagogy' and 'Intercultural Competence in the Work of Teachers'.
