Biography

Ashlyn Swift-Gallant is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She earned her B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Western Ontario and completed her M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Ashley Monks. Following her doctorate, she joined Drs. Cynthia Jordan and Marc Breedlove at Michigan State University for a two-year NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her research focuses on the interplay between hormones, brain development, and behavior, utilizing transgenic rodent models and investigating sex differences in behavior. Current projects include examining the role of the vomeronasal organ in socio-sexual behavior and exploring hormonal influences on pain sensitivity and the bio-development of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Ashlyn is also committed to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students interested in research related to hormones and behavior.
