Biography

Ashok Mishra is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, completed in 2007. He has an extensive background as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Scientist at institutions including McMaster University, Texas A&M University, the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research focuses on drought modeling and management, hydroclimatic extremes, climate change impact assessments, hydrometric network design, stochastic hydrology, complex networks, and the water-energy-food nexus. Additionally, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Hydrology and has held editorial positions for the Journal of Hydrologic Engineering and Earth's Future. His contributions have been recognized with several awards including the National Science Foundation Early CAREER Award in 2017 and the McQueen Quattlebaum Faculty Achievement Award in 2022 from Clemson University. He has also received recognition for his highly cited papers in the Journal Hydrology.
