Biography

Ashraf Matrawy is a Full Professor in the School of Information Technology at Carleton University, where he has been involved in curriculum development for undergraduate and graduate programs in Network Technology for over a decade. He has served as an associate director of the School and has coordinated the undergraduate network technology program for six years. Matrawy is a senior member of IEEE and contributes to the editorial board of the IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials journal. His research interests focus on reliable secure computer networking, software-defined networking, and cloud computing, along with key areas such as threat modeling, LTE security, 5G networks, and network security metrics. Matrawy has a multidisciplinary approach towards the security provisions of virtualized networks and evaluation metrics in Internet Security. He has participated in numerous technical program committees for prominent IEEE conferences and has held important roles in organizing sessions and panels at various international events.
