Biography

Bagchi received his Ph.D. degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, his M.S. degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, and his B.Eng. degree in Civil Engineering from Jadavpur University in Calcutta, India. His research interests encompass Structural Dynamics, Earthquake Engineering, Structural Health Monitoring, Infrastructure Rehabilitation, Finite Boundary Element Methods, and Computer Aided Design Engineering. He has extensive industrial experience in Civil Engineering and Information Technology. Bagchi has received several prestigious awards, including the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship and the ISIS Canada Postdoctoral Fellowships, along with the ENCS Teaching Excellence Award. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario and is affiliated with the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Canadian Association for Earthquake Engineering (CAEE), and the International Society for Health Monitoring of Infrastructures (ISHMII). Currently, he is a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) and has authored or co-authored over one hundred articles in technical journals and conferences, as well as patent applications and technical reports in both academia and industry, and has delivered keynote and invited lectures at national and international conferences.
