Dr. Ashwani Monga

Biography

Executive Vice Chancellor & Chief Academic Officer of the University System of Georgia (USG), Dr. Ashwani Monga leads the academic enterprise for 26 public universities serving 365,000 students and 20,000 faculty. He oversees the approval of academic programs, academic research collaborations, faculty affairs, academic innovation, enrollment management, student affairs, student success initiatives, and library services. Additionally, he supervises state-wide entities, including eCampus online education, Georgia Film Academy, and the Georgia Public Library Service, which comprises 408 public libraries. Monga is a tenured full professor at Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech and has previously served as interim President of the University of West Georgia. He has published in leading marketing journals, focusing on the psychology of time and money, and has co-authored the book 'Becoming a Consumer Psychologist.' Monga's teaching encompasses undergraduate, M.B.A., Ph.D., and executive education programs, and he has received multiple teaching and research excellence awards. In 2018, he was recognized as a Marketing Science Institute Scholar, one of 34 faculty selected worldwide, and has also received outstanding reviewer awards from multiple journals. He graduated with an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and holds a B.Tech degree from the National Dairy Research Institute in India, and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Minnesota.
