Biography

Ashwin Ramachandran is an Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. His research focuses on mechanobiology, biomechanics, diagnostics, bacterial biophysics, micro/nano fluidics transport, biotechnology development, physicochemical hydrodynamics, and measurement tools in biomedical devices and wearables. Ashwin completed his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics with a minor in Bioengineering from Stanford University in 2021. Additionally, he obtained a Master’s degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Mathematics and Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Ashwin has held a postdoctoral researcher position at Princeton University in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and the Department of Molecular Biology from 2021 to 2024.
