Biography

Asli Ozcelik Olcay is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Glasgow. Her research focuses on international peace and security, particularly in relation to armed conflicts and peacemaking. She serves as the Programme Director for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's in International Law, Global Security, and Peace Development, and co-leads the university's interdisciplinary research theme 'Peaceful, Secure, and Empowered Societies'. Prior to her current role, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Academic Coordinator at the Glasgow Centre for International Law and Security. Asli holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow, an LLM from the University of Cambridge, and an LLB from Bilkent University in Turkey. She has been a Visiting Researcher at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Her research interests span public international law with a special focus on the laws of armed conflict, transitional justice, post-conflict constitution-making, humanitarian assistance, and youth involvement in peace initiatives.
