Assane Gueye joined Carnegie Mellon University Africa as an Associate Teaching Professor. Prior to this, he was a faculty member in the ICT Department at the University Alioune Diop in Bambey, Senegal, where he led the research group 'Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication pour le Développement' (TIC4Dev). Assane earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley in March 2011 and holds a master’s degree in Communications Systems Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, obtained in 2004. His research primarily focuses on performance evaluation and security of large-scale communication systems and information communication technologies for development (ICT4D). He has been recognized as a Fellow of the Einstein Forum and was nominated as a member of the inaugural Fellow Class of the European Alliance Innovation in 2019. Assane has also taken up a guest researcher position at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA.
