Dr. Astrid Janssens

Biography

Astrid Janssens is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, with a focus on facilitating health and well-being through improved healthcare experiences for service users. Her research employs a transdisciplinary approach to explore and identify variables that define mental health and create necessary conditions for equitable healthcare and active patient participation. Astrid works closely with user perspectives, incorporating lived experiences of service users and their relatives into public policy and healthcare practices. She actively facilitates patient public involvement and co-production in her studies, aiming for better health research outcomes. Her recent roles include serving as an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Exeter. She has engaged in numerous research activities, including collaborative projects and presentations centered on health services organization, patient involvement, and continuity of care.
