Biography

Athanasios Angeloudis works in the field of engineering fluid mechanics and is involved with the Institute for Infrastructure and Environment, leading research on hydro-environmental applications. He serves as a lecturer in Civil Engineering with a focus on hydraulics and is also an Industrial Innovation Research Fellow with the UK’s Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), coordinating research activities on computational methods for marine offshore renewable energy. Athanasios collaborates closely with industry research groups and is a Chartered Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece as well as a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He is part of NERC’s Peer Review College and serves as the Coordinator for the Edinburgh Fluid Dynamics Group. His research expertise covers Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Offshore Renewable Energy, Coastal Processes, Numerical Methods, and Data Analytics Optimization Methods. He obtained his PhD in Hydro-environmental Engineering in 2014 from the Hydro-environmental Research Centre at Cardiff University, following an MEng in Civil Engineering in 2010 from the same institution.
