Athanasios Orphanides is a Professor of Practice at the MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Global Economics Management. He was elected to the Steering Committee for the European Systemic Risk Board in 2010 and served as a senior advisor on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Orphanides earned his undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics as well as a PhD in Economics from MIT.
