Biography

Dr. Athena Papadakis graduated from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom with a degree in dental medicine in 1997. She also completed a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000. She completed her specialty in orthodontics with a master's degree at the Université de Montréal in 2003. Since then, she has been an associate professor in the Orthodontics Section at the graduate level, where she also practices privately. Dr. Papadakis is actively involved in teaching and supervision, having led various graduate theses related to dental occlusions and orthodontic treatment. Her research interests include rapid palatal expansion, pain perception associated with orthodontic appliances, the relationship between malocclusion, smoking, and obesity, and the effects of mandibular advancement devices on sleep apnea.
