Biography

Atif Ansar is a Programme Director at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, University of Oxford. He has been a faculty member since 2006 and has served as a Senior Teaching Fellow. He founded the Oxford Programme for Sustainable Future Capital-Intensive Industries and is also the Executive Chairman of Foresight Works, a technology firm focusing on next-generation software for megaprojects worldwide. Ansar undertook his DPhil (PhD) at Brasenose College, awarded with the Clarendon Scholarship from Oxford University Press. He was also a post-doctoral research fellow at the BT Centre for Major Programme Management at Saïd Business School, from 2010 to 2015. Since then, he has continued teaching within the MSc in Major Programme Management and has worked with major governmental organizations in the UK and Australia on leadership in major projects. In 2018, he began visiting appointments as a scholar at Stanford University's Global Projects Center and holds a visiting professorship at Tsinghua University. His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
