Audrey Fotouhi earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed a transitional year at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan, followed by a dermatology residency at Wayne State University, where she served as Chief Resident and was recognized for her excellence in patient care, education, and clinical leadership. Dr. Fotouhi’s clinical interests encompass women’s health dermatology, including vulvar dermatoses, pregnancy and lactation-related skin concerns, gender-diverse care, acne, and hirsutism, as well as complex medical dermatology and dermatologic education. At the University of Chicago, she established the Gynecology-Dermatology Subspecialty Clinic to expand access for patients with vulvar skin conditions. She is actively engaged in multidisciplinary education and research through the University of Chicago’s Trans CARE program, focusing on improving dermatologic care for gender-diverse patients. Her work includes several peer-reviewed publications and invited lectures in medical vulvar dermatology. Dr. Fotouhi is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and an active member of the Association of Professors of Dermatology, International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, and Women’s Dermatologic Society. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Vulvar Dermatoses Research Consortium as Membership Chair.
