Biography

Audrey Fotouhi earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her transitional year at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan. She went on to complete a dermatology residency at Wayne State University, where she served as Chief Resident, recognized for her excellence in patient care, education, and clinical leadership. Dr. Fotouhi’s clinical interests cover a range of women’s health dermatology topics, including vulvar dermatoses, pregnancy and lactation considerations, gender-diverse care, acne, and hirsutism, as well as complex medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology. At the University of Chicago, she established a Gynecology-Dermatology Subspecialty Clinic to expand access for patients with vulvar skin conditions. Dr. Fotouhi is actively engaged in multidisciplinary education and research within the University of Chicago’s Trans CARE program, part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her academic focus includes improving dermatologic care for gender-diverse patients suffering from inflammatory and infectious vulvar dermatoses. She has an extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and invited lectures in medical vulvar dermatology, and she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Furthermore, she is an active member of the Association of Professors of Dermatology, the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Vulvar Dermatoses Research Consortium as Membership Chair.
