Audrey Martinovich is an audio engineer, music producer, and educator based in Madison, Wisconsin. She co-owns and operates Audio Arts Recording Studios, specializing in the recording of acoustic instruments and voice, in addition to teaching at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In 2017, she became a regular female contributor for Production Expert on Pro Tools Expert, an industry blog that provides knowledge and training to six million yearly visitors. Audrey was a finalist for the Breakthrough Studio Engineer award from Pro Sound Europe, recognizing her work in recording the score for Dragged Concrete. In 2020, she joined the Recording Academy as a voting member and was elected Governor of the Chicago Chapter board in 2021, where she currently serves as Chair of the Producers & Engineers Wing Committee. Audrey has led seminars for SoundGirls, Omni Sound Project, and Empowering Women Audio Clinics, covering a range of topics from recording techniques to overcoming imposter syndrome. She has mentored future audio engineers through programs like Girls Rock Camp – Madison, GRAMMY U, and Summer Music Clinics. Audrey is passionate about education, having taught audio production at Edgewood College and Madison Media Institute before joining the UW staff. She is also a regular contributor to iZotope’s learning community, writing articles that focus on audio cleanup and production tips. Her engineering credits include work with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and live stand-up comedy albums for Comedy Central, along with running live sound for a Reebok barge floating in the middle of Lake Monona.
