Dr. Auguste Fortin

Biography

Auguste Fortin VI is a Professor Emeritus in General Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. He graduated from Brandeis University and obtained his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his training in Primary Care Internal Medicine at New York University and Bellevue Hospital. After his fellowship in General Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, he obtained a Master’s in Public Health. He has a significant background as a clinician-educator and has been involved in various research projects, focusing on the educational aspects of medical practice, doctor-patient communication, and the psychosocial dimensions of medical care. Before retirement, his professional interests included fostering resident wellness and incorporating mindfulness into medical education. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in research evaluating student and resident experiences, and he has contributed to the development of curricula that enhance communication skills in medical training.
