Dr. Aunnie Power

Biography

Aunnie Patton Power is an academic, advisor, author, and angel investor focusing on directing innovative financing organizations to create positive social and environmental impact. She is an Associate Fellow at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics’ Marshall Institute, and an Impact Fellow at the ImPact. Aunnie works with funders globally to design innovative financing instruments and sits on the investment committees of Sanlam Investments and Nyala Venture. She also serves on the social ethics board committee for JUMO. As a founder of the career platform Impact Finance Pro and a founding member of Dazzle Angels, a female angel investing group, she emphasizes the importance of diverse investment strategies. Her book, 'Adventure Finance,' published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2021, encapsulates her extensive experience. Reformed from her background as an M&A investment banker, Aunnie began her impact investing career in 2010 with Unitus Capital in Bangalore, and has since worked with startups, intermediaries, funds, family offices, foundations, corporations, and governments across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Aunnie's works have been published globally by reputable institutions including Oxford University Press and Stanford Social Innovation Review, and she has contributed to the World Economic Forum and the Impact Investing Policy Collaboration. She also develops Massive Open Online Courses on platforms like Coursera and GetSmarter and convenes the Oxford Impact Finance Innovations African Venture Finance Programme annually.
