Dr. Avi Bick

Biography

Avi Bick is an Adjunct Professor in the Finance area at Simon Fraser University. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Tel Aviv University, an M.B.A. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to his role at SFU, he taught at New York University. Professor Bick serves as the Finance area coordinator and has extensive teaching experience in Investments and Financial Theory across undergraduate, master's, and PhD levels. He specializes in Derivative Securities and teaches courses in the Master of Science in Finance program and a graduate course in the Economics department. He has received prestigious teaching awards, including the TD-Canada Trust Distinguished Teaching Award and recognition on the Faculty of Business Teaching Honour Roll. His research primarily focuses on Derivative Securities and Mathematical Finance, with specific interests in Options, Futures Markets, and Investments. His publications have been featured in leading academic journals, establishing him as a noted contributor in his field.
