Dr. Avinash Collis

Biography

Avinash Collis is an Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy. He holds a Ph.D. from MIT Sloan School of Management and studies the economic implications of information technologies. His research has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals and has been covered by major media outlets including the New York Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Economist, CNN, BBC, and Bloomberg. Collis has also contributed to policy reports for significant institutions such as the White House, Federal Reserve, Senate, and UK Treasury. He serves as part of the Federal Economic Statistics Advisory Committee (FESAC), where he advises the directors of the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Department of Commerce, Census Bureau, and Bureau of Labor Statistics.
