Biography

Aviva Lee-Parritz began her career as a nurse with a deep passion for making an impact on the lives of her patients. This commitment to patient care led her to pursue a career in medicine. She is devoted to maternal health and reproductive justice, having taken on various clinical and administrative roles of increasing responsibility. Lee-Parritz has evolved her practice and has become a staunch advocate for the rights of individuals to choose to have children and raise families safely. Her values have significantly influenced her role as chief of her department. Among her accomplishments, she has led efforts to support faculty in implementing programs aimed at mitigating inequities in health outcomes. One notable achievement includes the amplification of Project Respect, a national model for care of pregnant individuals dealing with substance use disorder. She also plays a pivotal role in the Equity Pregnancy clinical initiative within Boston Medical Center Health System’s Health Equity Accelerator. Lee-Parritz has cultivated a robust research portfolio and championed programs that focus on eliminating racial inequities in sexual health and family planning, including treatment for fibroids and gynecologic cancers.
