Biography

Avner Strulov-Shlain’s research focuses on behavioral economics and how firms interact with consumers' psychological biases. He investigates how companies respond to consumers and how consumer behavior can be quantitatively analyzed. His findings highlight the importance of taking consumers' non-standard behavior seriously, particularly in the context of 'behavioral' business practices that consider consumer behavior. Strulov-Shlain employs a diverse range of methodologies including observational data, natural experiments, field experiments, and lab experiments to address these questions. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed his pre-doctoral studies with an MA in Economics from Tel-Aviv University and a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
