Biography

Awad currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), previously holding a similar position at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU-Asia) in Singapore since March 2016. With over 18 years of experience as an instructor and manager at the Egyptian Aviation Academy (EAA) between 2009 and 2012, Awad is recognized for his extensive work across the Middle East, Africa, and the Far East in various aviation academies and authorities. He has provided lectures for M.Sc. and PhD degrees, supervising thesis work at Cairo University while teaching postgraduate programs globally. His roles have included General Manager of Air Traffic Management (ATM) at Cairo International Airport and vice head of the operations sector, with more than 23 years in the aviation industry. Awad has received numerous instructional awards from aviation academies and training centers. He holds a PhD in Operations Research focusing on optimizing international airport performance using artificial intelligence, alongside an M.Sc. in Modeling & Simulation and a B.Sc. from Alexandria University, Egypt. He is also a certified instructor in Airport Operations & Management through the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
