Biography

Dr. Aws Almufleh completed his medical degree with Class Honors from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2012. He later obtained a Master of Public Health from the University of Miami, concentrating on epidemiology and clinical research. His residency in internal medicine was at McGill University, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. Following this, he completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute from 2016 to 2019 and an advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School from 2019 to 2020. He received the Pierce Fellow Award for his scholarships in cardiomyopathy and recognized achievements in clinical research. Additionally, Dr. Almufleh underwent advanced echocardiography fellowship training at Vancouver General Hospital/University of British Columbia in 2020-2021, while also participating in the Global Clinical Scholars Research Training program at Harvard Medical School, focusing on advanced quantitative research methodologies and study designs. His clinical research interests primarily involve optimizing outpatient management for patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction, specifically addressing rapid expansion of heart failure pharmacotherapy and challenges related to therapeutic inertia. Dr. Almufleh has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles, including involvement as a co-investigator in a large-scale randomized controlled trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
