I am an assistant professor in mathematics with a focus on machine learning. My research primarily deals with how mathematics can assist computers in identifying patterns within large datasets. I have a particular interest in compressed sensing, which involves methods that utilize structural assumptions to improve the reconstruction of signals from incomplete data. Additionally, I investigate the equivariance of deep neural networks, which allows for the exploration of the symmetries in data and the impact of various methods on these symmetries. I obtained my PhD from Technische Universität Berlin in 2018 and have worked in Toulouse and Gothenburg before arriving in Umeå.
